A new year is the perfect time to start planning your travels around the world; make 2019 the year you explore the unknown. If travelling around the world is something you have always had an interest in doing, then follow your dreams and make it happen.
To help to inspire these adventures, below are some suggestions on where to get started:
The North African country of Morocco is home to incredible natural landscapes, mouth-watering cuisines, fascinating architecture, interesting museums and the vast desert. From a backpacker to a culture lover, from an adventure traveller to families or foodies, Morocco has something for everyone, making it the perfect holiday destination. There is endless amounts to do whilst you visit; from exploring the old Imperial cities, to spending a relaxing day at the beaches, to enjoying the many stunning sunsets in the Sahara Desert, to going shopping!
Situated in the South Pacific, Fiji is home to over 300 islands fringed with corals and an abundance of natural beauty. Offering numerous destinations that are both colourful and diverse, this archipelago is one of the best holiday destinations in the world. From swimming with sharks in the Pacific Harbour, to spending some quality leisure time at the Mamanuca Islands, enjoying various water sports in Denarau Island; Fiji offers a myriad of exciting experiences to every traveller.
Indonesia is another country that lets one explore numerous islands. Home to some of the most stunning and enchanting islands in the world, such as Bali, Indonesia is heaven for travellers who love the beach lifestyle. From going scuba diving or snorkelling, to watching the Komodo Dragons, from trying the Indonesian cuisines, to exploring the world’s largest Buddhist temple Borobudur, or simply watching the sunset over the Mt. Bromo volcano; a visit to Indonesia can be exciting beyond imagination.
With unfenced surroundings of pure beauty, Botswana gives you the opportunity to explore the extraordinary wildlife here as well as the diverse ecosystem. The deserts, the inland deltas, the grassy plains, the swamps and the wildlife here in Botswana are enough to leave anyone amazed and in awe. Whilst immercing yourself in the wildlife, there are some incredible retreats and parks to stay in that are dotted throughout Botswana. The unspoiled wilderness of the Okavango Delta or the beautiful rivers and herds of elephants in the Chobe National Park should not be missed out on.
Turkey maintains a pleasant Mediterranean climate, offers amazing nightlife, delicious foods and amplitude of natural beauty; thus, making it a failsafe fantastic holiday destination. From witnessing surreal landscapes from a hot air balloon, to visiting the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul or the Blue Mosque, or simply going cave dwelling in Cappadocia, Turkey promises memorable experiences for all.
Are any of these already on your list for 2019, either as a first time visit or as somewhere you’re excited to return to? My travel plans for the year so far include some UK ‘staycations’ and a holiday to Greece, visiting the islands and finishing in Athens.
