Unfortunately I didn’t have time for a three week update, but as I reach the halfway point or ‘four week milestone’ of my journey it feels symbolic, and I have a day on the train to contemplate and sleep. Continuing my extended tour of the Balkans, I’m currently heading to the capital of Slovenia. Split was where I relaxed properly and had a summer holiday. As I arrived, the coach journey from Sarajevo had been particularly dull and I managed to sleep through most of it but with several pit stops, I took some photos of the great Croatian scenery as we headed through and past Dubrovnik. Currently sat on the train from Romania to Bulgaria, I’ve come back from spending half an hour with my head facing out the corridor window in a dog-like fashion. Watching Romania speed by is a pleasure and I can’t help but think I’m doing exactly what I should be doing, and am exactly where I should be. OK, so it wasn’t actually terrifying but it was ‘terrific’. On my second day in Brasov I opted for a private tour of the surrounding areas, visiting the famous Bram’s Castle (home of Dracula), the Citadel used to protect Rasov during medieval times and the Royal Palace of Sinaia.View Post
Budapest Zoo has a fantastic area for sloths to thrive and offers great interaction for zoo visitors.
