*Updated 2018. Since I’ve been back from my first solo travelling adventure, I’ve had quite a few people ask me how I did it, or calling me brave. I was nervous before I set off; from the comfort of home I was naturally worried about what might go wrong. Would I get lost? Would I be lonely? Would I even last the full journey without turning back?View Post
Recently I wrote about how to overcome post-trip blues, but I didn’t touch upon one of the best ways to cheer yourself up after a big trip: planning a mini jaunt! As I’m sure all my fellow travel bloggers will agree, it’s always best to have a new adventure in mind to keep your cultural side in tune and even that sometimes, you don’t need a reason, just a ticket 😉View Post
My first solo trip was when I moved to Canada for six months in 2009 as part of a study abroad programme. I was much younger and didn’t take the time to think about whether I’d get culture shock, or even reverse culture shock when I returned. I spent a lot of time planning before I left and whilst I was there, was too busy having fun to really feel any nostalgia for home or think about being back.View Post
This review post of my travels is something I’ve been subconsciously putting off since I came back, as it feels like the end of one of the best times of my life. Now I’m back, the trip almost feels like a dream and I have to remind myself that it happened and that for two months I lived every day to the full, seeing some of the best destinations the world has to offer!View Post
